Italy joins the war on France and begins moving in North Africa. We see italian troops making a landing in Syria, but once on ground, not much more happens. CW finds the italian fleet moving around in the Med an irresistable target and bDoW-s Italy, and the war at sea can begin.
USSR is finished with the build up along the Persian border and Zhukov gets the order to attack. A short campaign is conducted and soon the persian oil is under Russian control.

The DoW against Italy, with both his transports in the Eastern med was irresistable. I did find him too, but unfortunately he rolled a 1 so i only managed to damage on of his transports. The other one escaped, along with an old BB which made its damage check and anchored in Libya where it was hit by port striking CV planes and sunk. Not too bad a result.

Germany made good use of his navy and invaded belgium from the North Sea, despite quite heavy CW presence there, but no matter how hard I searched for him, I could not find his navy on four attempts (would have found him on a 3 or better). Grmbl.

With some help from the french navy which has been very active indeed, CVs based in Gibraltar managed to sink yet a Italian cruiser. Let him bleeed. Also, the fearsome Italian NAV was shot down by planes from the Bearn and the Victorious(iirc). Italys revenge hurt however. He managed to sink one of my transports in a frogman port strike on Gibraltar. That cost me 25% of my transport capacity.

The turn begins with a Japanese DoW on USSR. In response to this, USSR declares war on Iraq and send some fast moving cavalry to claim the oil wells there. The Iraqi forces are encircled and cut off and the russian cavalry can enter Bagdad without any blod spilled.
Aided by the Luftwaffe, Germany continues to bleed the french army and airforce. Even the BEF has to take a hit for the team in Lille as Gort and his army struggles to fill the lines where the french have retreated after Germany cracked an offensive chit on Rundstedt. After some successful blitzes, the german steamroller comes to a complete stop around Lille and west of Metz, two hexes from Paris as almost all of his troops are now disrupted.
The last pockets of resistance in Yugoslavia is crushed by the german forces, which waste no time celebrating and moves south towards Greece.

Terrible times, Japan attacks Russsia. Where will it end? Interesting twist though. China retreated, therefore so did Japan. Only one HQ left in China now and the better part of the troops in southern China are OOS. It is a shame that China does not have any bombers.

Luftwaffe has already done its job and flipped 50% of the remaining french defenders around and in Paris, and the attack from 3 directions is launched, resulting in a disaster for the Germans. One defending French corps is killed for one German corps and the German engineers. Paris still holds.
At the same time, German encircling forces in Greece, supported by the Italian navy assault Athens (supported by the British navy) with an even worse result. Two German corps killed for no Greek losses.
Japan manoeuver back and forth in China and Manchuria to contain the outflanking Russian and Chinese forces, although the previous now seems to be pulling out his forces to face the new threat from Germany in Europe.
Weather slowly becomes more and more erretic as the turn progresses. CW makes an attempt to annihilate the Italian cruisers in the Eastern Med that supported the German attack on Greece but fails to do any damage and the Italians pull back through the French navy (low box) to La Spezia. Also, some strategic bombardment is conducted against Lille, whose factories are now producing for the Wehrmacht, by brand new British Halifax Mk.1 heavy bombers. Lastly, CW aircraft from carriers and from England port strike Kiel (again), finally clearing through the heavy anti-air and sink the German amph. The invasion threat to the UK is thus greatly reduced.

Stalin continues to evacuate the Manchurian border and reform his front against Germany.
Later in turn, Germany continues to move all available forces east. Russia starts creating something resembling a defensive line. Most of Manchuria is evacuated and even Zhukov himself takes the train to Europe.
The only two servicable German subs sortie under cover of storms to the Faeroes gap where they are heavily surprised by escorting CW cruisers and both are sunk for one light cruiser damaged for the CW. This looks like the end of the uboat menace for some time. CW redistributes a lot of his naval forces to the Med.
Strategic bombardment against Germany once again fails miserably, despite the recent arrival of heavy CW bombers.
Italy is mostly reterning his forces home fron France and Denmark to contain the Franco-British beachhead om north-western Italy.
In the Asian war,China makes a break for it and rushes cavalry towards Canton. The Japanese scrambles forces and makes a powerful counterattack which is beaten back with huge losses. USA rebases it's east coast fleet to the west coast after the Brits sinks or damages the last Axis subs. "Good to see that their 'naval tradition' isn't just rum, sodomy and the lash", American commander says.
The English commander of the atlantic fleet Admiral Winterbottom's reply is rumoured to have been "But I bet that those three combined account for at least seventy percent of the Royal Navys prowess in battle".

We are trying a slightly different US entry system. US entry is cumulative per turn and per country, die rolls are made at end of turn only. This is in order to reduce the chance element slightly. Example: Japan takes two chinese cities (+0.4 each) in a turn-> 0.8 versus Japan, roll 1-8 at end of turn to get a chit versus Japan Germany at the same time vichies france (+1.7) and USSR has later declared war on Persia (-0.9). This means that US draws one chit for vichy when it happends and later rolls 1-7 for an extra chit at end of turn. Then he rolls 0-9 to remove a chit.
